I recommend 3 as the better game, but both are great in different ways. Planetfall is rough in parts, but is better as a 4x experience and does a lot of weird experiments(mostly successful). Tldr AOW3 is a wargame, more polished, and truer to the Age of Wonders experience. Be careful, though, versus units protected against blight, because assassin's strike, the core of the rogue's damage, does a lot of blight damage.A subreddit for discussing 4X strategy games. Generally in fights you want to engage with a high health unit and then send shadow stalkers and assassins behind the enemy and flank them. Rogues also rely on flanking attacks, because it gives them the 'backstab' bonus which gives a significant amount of damage on flanking attacks. Rogue units can quickly traverse terrain- many units are flying such as the grimbeak crows, the succubus, and the shadow stalker. Generally the best time is to stay invisible near a battle and then when it is over finish off the winning side (Which will be weaker). Rogues rely on abilities like urban cover to move sneakily around the map and surprise enemies.
